About Us
Founded in 2024, the Cypress Winds Community Band is a semi-professional ensemble of over 70 music educators representing more than 35 elementary, middle, and high school programs. We provide a space for teachers to stay musically active, grow professionally, and connect through high-level performance and collaboration.
The CWCB enriches the community by presenting high-quality, accessible performances that inspire students, educators, and the public. The ensemble offers three free concerts annually at Lone Star College–Cy-Fair and other local venues, fostering connection and elevating music through shared artistic experiences.
Cypress Winds aspires to be a leading Community Band in Texas—recognized for musical excellence, educational impact, and strong partnerships. We envision a thriving organization that inspires students and educators, strengthens the arts in our region, and fosters lifelong connections through shared artistic achievement.
501(c)(3) Non-Profit
Cypress Winds Community Band is a registered 501(c)(3) Texas nonprofit organization. Our nonprofit status allows us to operate with transparency and purpose while accepting tax-deductible donations that directly support our mission.
Funding comes from member dues, sponsorships, and generous contributions from individuals and community partners, helping us present high-quality performances that remain free and accessible to the public.
100% Volunteer Based
Cypress Winds is entirely volunteer-driven. Our musicians, conductors, and board members generously give their time and talent without compensation.

Partnership with Lone Star College–CyFair
Cypress Winds Community Band is proud to partner with Lone Star College–CyFair for rehearsals and performances at the Center for the Arts. This partnership provides our ensemble with a premier performance venue in the heart of our community and strengthens our shared commitment to advancing the arts in Cypress.
Through this collaboration, we are able to present free public concerts in a professional setting while building meaningful connections with students, educators, and community members. We are grateful for Lone Star College–CyFair’s support and look forward to growing together as champions of accessible, high-quality musical experiences.
